May Favourites 2015

As the month has drawn to a close I decided it was time to go on a little ramble about all of the little things that made me a very happy bunny this May. This month I seem to have come across multiple 'game changers' - products that have really blown me away and will be sticking with me for a very long time.

Monki Sunglasses
They're tortoiseshell, they're round, they're mirrored, they were a tenner. What's not to love?

Soap and Glory Brow Archery in Love is Blonde
This little beauty is double ended meaning you get both a waxy pencil and something reminiscent of a felt tip pen. The pencil end is, to be completely honest,  a bit crap. It pulls at your skin and makes the whole filling in of brows thing quite the ordeal. The pen end however is a gift sent from heaven. It allows you to get a beautifully crisp line without looking like you've coloured them in with a sharpie. I never have a bad brow day when using this product, I just wish that I could buy this end on its own.

Essie Fiji Nail Polish
This is a classic pink shade in preparation for the summer. My main complaint when using pastel nail polishes is that they just never seem to be light enough. I like them to be almost white with just a hint of colour. This incredibly pale pink fits the bill perfectly.

Nars Sheer Glow
I have a feeling this is going to be a staple favourite for a very long time. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner (and of course the lack of pump, sort it out Nars). It provides the perfect coverage and doesn't make my face look cakey in the slightest.

Garnier Sleek Perfecter Hair Oil
I picked this up on a whim after hearing Gabbi rave about it numerous times. I dye my hair blonde and although it's not in awful condition, it doesn't have the silky soft, fresh from the salon feel. I'd pretty much giving up on finding a hair product that actually made a difference but it appears I shouldn't have lost hope so easily. This makes your hair feel incredibly soft and smell amazing. If a hair oil could be life changing, this would be.

Touch of Silver Shampoo
It appears that May was the month of hair discoveries for me as this is another little treasure that I won't be letting go of for a long time. If you dye your hair blonde you will be well aware that after a while it tends to go brassy, leaving you looking less like goldilocks and more like Lady Gaga in her Telephone music video. This is an absolute life saver. The purple shade of the shampoo takes out any brassiness, leaving you with beautiful ashy hair.

Bounce Coconut and Macadamia Protein Balls
I came across these when I was browsing in Holland and Barrett. As soon as I saw the word coconut I was sold. These are delicious and stop me from snacking on chocolate bars or cake. They come in lots of other flavours as well including 'cacao and mint' and 'apple and cinnamon'. I did give the almond one a go however and was not impressed so tread carefully!

Yoga
I've been getting really into yoga this month. I find it so relaxing and I've noticed that I generally feel calmer and happier since doing it. I also always get the most amazing night sleep whenever I do it. I've found the Yoga with Adrienne youtube channel really helpful for starting out.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
This is a netflix original show created by Tina Fey (so it's obviously hilarious). It follows the life of Kimmy, a woman who's been rescued from an underground cult. She and three other women were held there for 15 years meaning she has very little knowledge of technology and pop culture. It's a really positive funny show and the episodes are relatively short. I managed to get through the first series in a couple of days (probably not something I should be proud of but hey ho). I would highly recommend you give it a watch if you have netflix!

ASOS
I have been LOVING Asos recently. I've ordered a tonne of stuff from them this month and I absolutely love all of it. I've also really been enjoying the stylist's instagrams, particularly:
@asos isabella
@asos megan
@asos alisha

What have you been loving in the month of May?

  1. Do you think the garnier hair oil is better than Moroccan oil/Macadamia nut oil (if you've tried those brands) - I've heard nothing but rave reviews and I really want to try it!
