5 Items That Will Transform Your Festive Wardrobe

It’s officially the party season. University is winding to a close, Santa’s checking his list and fireworks are being sourced for New Year’s Eve. If you’re anything like me, you’ve reached mid-December and suddenly realised you have no idea how your wardrobe is going to cope with the next few weeks of festivities. I’ve rounded up five pieces that can carry your current items through the party season. From transforming the jeans and t-shirt look to nailing New Year’s Eve. All of these items are super easy to get your hands on in a hurry and don’t cost an arm and leg. They’re all available on the high-street from Warehouse, who have you covered when it comes to Christmas party outfits.

Can you ever be winter party ready without being bundled up in a big faux fur coat? I love how glamorous and old Hollywood fur can look. The big shapelessness of a fur coat looks so perfect when paired with short dresses and bare legs. It will also keep you toasty warm when travelling to and from the festivities of the party season.

Astrological prints are having a bit of a moment, particularly after the release of that gorgeous velvet Prada cahier. I love astrological jewellery. It’s pretty with just the right amount of whimsical. Layers of dainty jewellery never fail to make an outfit look beautifully curated.

If you’re going for a casual get-together, a festive jumper is perfect. I love a plain jumper with an embellished neckline. They’re simple but still have a festive nod and can be easily thrown on with jeans.

I love using metallic accessories this time of year to turn my normal outfits into something a bit more festive. I have a pair of silver shoes that always make an appearance during December. Metallic clutches always look beautiful and can easily to take you from casual drinks to extravagant parties. I particularly like the way they look with an all black outfit.

5 // SUIT UP
I love a festive dress as much as the next girl. Sequins, fringe and plunging necklines are never to be underestimated. However, I also love a great co-ord. I love the masculinity of a suit paired with softer fabrics and patterns. It’s a look that’s still formal but stands out from the many classic party dresses. This kind of power dressing always makes me feel better when walking into a room full of people.

What items are essential in your festive season wardrobe?
