Inspirational Content #9: Zero Waste, Being Ready and Moving to Bali

1 // Trash Talk: Moving Toward Zero Waste, Earth To Us Podcast with Hannah McNeely and Evan Oliver

This week I discovered the Earth To Us podcast and fell completely in love with it. Each episode focuses on living more conscious lives and making positive changes for the wellbeing of the wider world. Their episode on zero waste was particularly inspiring and really made me look at my own habits in a new light. I learnt so many new things about plastic, recycling and composting, that I would otherwise been completely oblivious to.

2 // A Quote On Being Ready, Hugh Laurie

'It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.' I think this speaks for itself. I posted this quote on my instagram stories earlier in the week because it really spoke to me. Multiple people messaged me that day to tell me that it was just what they needed to see. So, here it is again, just in case anyone missed out.

3 // @gabbyfranciscoach

Gabby and her sister recently moved to Bali, so it's been amazing to see how she deals with the move. She often speaks about feeling homesick for London, something I can personally relate to from time to time. I'm always so excited when I see Gabby has uploaded a story. She has such a down-to-earth and kind personality. One of my favourite posts from her recently discusses the importance of not letting your mind bully your body, something a lot of us are guilty of.

4 // Do Schools Kill Creativity TED Talk, Ken Robinson

I think this might be the most watched TED Talk of all time, and for good reason. It's such an interesting topic and one that has got me thinking all week long! Ken Robinson discusses the failings of the current school system and asks why we value certain attributes over others. This really got me thinking about my own school experience and the way I was taught. He's very funny, so it's also a very enjoyable watching experience.

5 // @amy_abrahams

Amy is a health and wellness writer. You may have read something by her before as her work has appeared in Glamour, The Pool and Oh Comely. I love following Amy on Instagram because she's so real. She calls out magazine covers for sending mixed messages about self love and weight loss, and her captions cover topics such as ageing and self-care. It's so refreshing to see someone loving the act of exercise, rather than obsessing over the way that it makes them look. It serves as such a good reminder to find joy in the workout itself and to love the process.
