May Goals

Goal setting is one of my fave things to do. I'm slightly obsessed. Over the years I've noticed that it's much harder to ignore your goals once you've told someone about them. So here's a little blogpost to keep me accountable during the month of May. I also just love reading these kinds of posts from other bloggers. I find it so interesting to see everyone's interests and progressions!

1 // Make the most of my final weeks in the US

After four months of calling Philadelphia home, it's almost time to hop back on a plane to the UK. I leave on the 18th and, whilst I'm so looking forward to seeing my family and friends, I'm also very sad to be leaving. It's flown by and I'm determined to make the most of my final few weeks here. From the 5th to the 18th I'm travelling around New York and Boston with Rory and boy am I excited. I'm so determined to enjoy every last minute, to eat delicious food, take beautiful pictures, have lots of laughs and see wonderful things.

2 // Take an Online Photography Basics Course

I will be the first to admit that I know absolutely nothing about photography - zero, zilch, nada. It's something that I'm really interested in learning though. I've started taking a course about the very basics, because ya girl is starting from the bottom. I really want to have finished the whole thing by the end of May. And maybe start another? Too ambitious? We'll see.

3 // Organise my Laptop

I'm usually a very organised person. I like my inbox to be empty and my desktop to be clear. An influx of presentations, exams and essays has meant that all of that has pretty much gone out the window the past couple of months. I hate not being able to find what I'm looking for amid the streams of randomly named documents in the wrong places and don't get me started on the emails. I'm making it my mission in May to get my laptop life under control.

4 // Take More Outfit Photos

I love taking outfit photos for my Instagram account. I find them so much fun to plan and edit but often I find myself completely forgetting to take them (usually because I'm too focused on what I'm having for brunch, another common feature on my feed). This month I really want to up my outfit post game. So, say a prayer for Rory, who will be forced to take endless photos of me in front of Brooklyn Bridge. He has the patience of a saint and I am forever grateful.

5 // Get More Personal

This is something I've been dabbling in recently and have been really enjoying. I've noticed that the instagram accounts I love the most are the ones that speak about what they're passionate about. I love long captions that are vulnerable and thoughtful. A lot of the time I feel the pressure to come up with something witty or will just post a couple of emojis and call it a day. I really want to start using instagram to share things that I'm passionate about, quotes that make me happy or thoughts from my day. Whenever I have tried anything like this in the past, I've felt much more authentic. I get so much more meaningful interaction from others and love talking them about what I've posted.
