5 More Bad Habits You Need to Break

A month or so ago I wrote a blogpost called '5 Bad Habits You Need to Break'. Since writing it, I've noticed a number of other negative tendencies that could really do with being chucked in the bin. So, here's five more bad habits that are holding you back from living your healthiest, happiest life.

1 // Judging Others

Constantly passing judgment on others is such a draining habit. Every time we get carried away with what other people are doing, we're only waste our own time. Whilst we're focusing negative thoughts on those around us, we could be doing something positive and productive. Let them do them and you do you. Keep your eyes on your own paper.

2 // Apologising

If you didn't actually do something wrong, don't apologise. Studies (and years of anecdotal proof) show that women are particularly guilty of this one. Don't apologise for not looking your best or for speaking your mind. If something is out of your control, you have nothing to be sorry about. When we say sorry we make ourselves smaller, in an attempt to be less threatening. If other people are threatened by you, that's their problem, not yours.

3 // Waking Up Late

Get yourself out of that cycle of staying up until the early hours of the morning reading conspiracy theories and refreshing twitter. Going to bed late means waking up late. Before you know it, it's 12 'o' clock and you've done absolutely nothing with your day. Getting up early means you can get productive before the rest of the world is even awake. The first few weeks of that morning alarm can take a bit of getting used to but before you know it, you'll be an early bird catching that worm.

4 // Using Plastic

Criticism of single use plastic is growing and growing. It's so easy to reduce your plastic usage. Get yourself a reusable bag for your shopping and a glass water bottle and you're ready to go! Say no thanks to plastic straws and try to buy fruits and veggies without packaging.

5 // Dieting

How exhausting is dieting?! Give your mind and body a rest and say no to those crazy diet plans. If you're feeling hungry, eat! Your body's telling you that it needs some more fuel to get you through the day. Feed it with lots of yummy, nutritious foods and say no to calorie restriction and fad diets!
