2018 Mid-Year Resolutions

If you're new here, you may not know that I am a goal fanatic/resolution aficionado/planning princess. Which means that when we hit July, it's time to start looking at those resolutions! Checking in half-way through the year is a great way to keep ourselves accountable. It's a chance to give ourselves a pat on the back for all our hard work so far and the work out what we could do differently. Sometimes we notice things that need to change later on in the year and there's definitely no need to wait around until January. Here's a quick look at how my resolutions are going and what I've decided to add in to the mix!


1 // Get More Social

I've pretty much accepted that I'm an introverted person. I love spending time on my own. In fact, I need it to function properly. That being said, I also love spending time with my friends. I've realised that since leaving school I struggle more than I used to with being confident in social situations. I tend to assume that people will find me boring or that they don't want to talk to me. This isn't something that I used to struggle with so I'd really like to regain this confidence.

2 // Text Back

I am horrific at texting back. In fact, it might just be my worst quality. I know how annoying it can be for friends, so I really want to make an effort to text back as soon as I get a text message. If I leave it for a moment, I leave it for a day/forever.

3 // Master the Push Up

There's something exciting about doing things you never thought you'd be able to do. In fact, it's becoming a bit of an addiction for me. One of these things is a push up. When I told my boyfriend this and laughed in disbelief. But alas, I have the upper body strength of a bumble bee. I'd love to be able to do a push-up, even if it's just the one!

4 // Send Letters 

I used to be a massive card-giver and letter-sender. I used them as a way to congratulate people or let them know that they were special to me. Over the past couple of years or so, I've fallen out of this habit and I'm keen to get started again! I think it's such a lovely personal way to show your appreciation for others.


1 // Positive Thinking

I've noticed such a change in my life since I started putting an emphasis on gratitude and positive thinking. Every day is a good day now, which is something I certainly don't want to say goodbye to.

2 // Healthy Lifestyle

So far, 2018 has been the year that I've really managed to get to grips with the whole healthy lifestyle thing. I've found a way of eating that works for me, I've lost weight, I exercise regularly and I feel great. For obvious reasons I'm keen to keep this up.

3 // Self Love

I never thought I'd get to a point where I felt anything close to self-love. One of my resolutions for 2018 was to work on this. So far, so good. I feel so much happier in myself and have accepted myself for exactly who I am in this moment. I never want to go back to being so mean to myself!

4 // Reading

So far this year has been a great one for reading. I'm very close to my goal of 50 for the year and have decided to up it to 75! I'm currently in a bit of a slump but have started visiting my local library in an attempt to get back into the swing of things.

  1. Sounds like some fab goals - amazing that you've read soooo many books this year! It was my goal to join a library and I still haven't, but I am determined to join one this week when I move closer to town. xx
